Old camera, new photos
I picked up a lovely little Ricoh 500G 35mm rangefinder at a carboot sale for the princely sum of………. £1.00!! The new battery for it cost me more! I’ve shot a couple of films through it now with mixed results, on one hand the light leaks are lovely. But on the other, just realising now it’s a bit broken and it’ll only shoot in f16 when in shutter priority mode has been a bit of a bugger as I’ve lost some potentially nice shots. Oh well……

Dublin Contemporary 2011
I recently had the pleasure of being asked to fly and to Dublin for a couple of days to document Prefab installing their work as apart of the ‘Dublin Contemporary 2011′ International Arts Exhibition.

Now, who ever made up the lie that you don’t get a hang over from drinking Guinness in Dublin needs a good slap.

Paper Girl Newcastle – Distribution Day
After forgetting that I was supposed to be documenting the preview evening until I was on my way there, I thought I’d make a half decent attempt on capturing the actual distribution.
We loaded people up with bags of rolled up work.
And then sent them out riding around Newcastle to force it upon the public
Then we went to ate cake and turn our bikes into Scraper bikes.

“Venimus, Vidimus, Vicimus”
Well it’s not quite “We came, we saw, we cycled” but seeing as the Romans weren’t big on riding bikes……
Hopped on the train down to York last week to spend a few hours rummaging through charity shops, weaving in and out of Spanish tourists, and photographing religious nutters, before getting the train home slightly drunk.
It’s a bit blurry…
I recently borrowed a lovely 24mm Canon tilt-shift lens for photographing building exteriors for a client. I’m not going to post any of those photos here but I did get a little chance to shoot some other pictures with it that are below.
Paper Girl
Like art? Like cycling? Well then, we have the perfect event for you then!!
We are hosting our very own world famous ‘Paper Girl’ event in Newcastle.
What is ‘Papergirl’?… Papergirl is a no bones, lets do and share, give away art on bikes operation. Over the course of one weekend, we plan to have an exhibition of Papergirl contributors with a bit party afterward. The following morning will be the meat and veg of the operation, starting with the breakfast meet up… after which, said cyclists will distribute the artwork to the general public on the streets of Newcastle. To get things rolling, all we need is the artists submissions!
